坂本直昭展 Nao’s Paper Show「海峡往来」

今、この世に手で漉く紙は必要なのだろうか。
人は紙に何を求めるのだろう。
直さんは、30年来このことを思い、仕事をしてきたそうです。
ネパール、アラスカ、アマゾン、オーストラリア、アイルランドなど、
世界各地に紙を持って行き、感じたことを紙に印しています。
展覧会はヨーロッパ、南北アメリカ、大洋州・アジアの各地にて開催。
I wonder if we need the paper which we can handle by hand in this world now.
What do people want on paper?
Mr. Nao seems to have worked thought for this thirty years.
I have printed on the paper what I felt when I took paper in various parts of the world such as
Nepal, Alaska, Amazon, Australia and Ireland.
The exhibition is held in Europe, the Americas, the Pacific and Asia.
坂本直昭
1948年 茨城県生まれ。早稲田大学卒業
1975年 版画集の制作など、紙の仕事を始める
1984年 東京 千石に「紙舗 直」を開く
1989年 新潟 小国に工房をつくる
2002年 道南の原生林の中に工房をつくる
2007年 父祖の地、高知に工房をつくる
